As much as I didn't want this day to come, it was time to part with my beautiful YZ450F. This bike has been more than amazing and given me some unforgettable experiences during the build, displaying it at shows and when I rode it.
There is something about building a bike in your own image that makes it become a part of you, like a motorized child. You spend weeks and months together for every minute of the day in what seems to be a never ending love/hate relationship. Yelling, swearing, sweating, bleeding, not sleeping, eating shitty food or not eating at all, wanting to give up...until that one sweet moment where you fasten that last bolt, stand back and say "fuck yes I did this". That moment makes it all worth it and is something you remember for the rest of your life.
I'm sad to see it go but there will be more builds in the near future, hopefully my next MX build will top this one!
