Part 2 of the Jerusalem mini-series. In this episode, we explore the Kidron Valley.
Season 1, Episode 38
In the last episode, we walked through Via Dolorosa in the Old City of Jerusalem, which led us to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus spent lis last hours before he was taken to to be judged.
This Episode, we continue the Jerusalem tour as we descend into the Valley of the Shadow of Death.
Jerusalem rests on the edge of two valleys: The Hinnom and the Kidron.
Both of these Valleys do not have a pleasant history.
The Hinnom valley is where some of the kings of Judah sacrificed their children by fire to Molech, who is believed, by some scholars, to be Satan.
The Kidron valley, is where King Jehoshaphat overthrown the enemies of Israel, and where the Levites would throw away the unclean and defiled items to.
The Kidron valley is located on the east side of Jerusalem. If we exit Via Dolorosa street through the Lion’s Gate, and walk a few minutes east, we’ll find ourselves in the valley of Kidron.
Today the valley is a mix of ancient and modern graveyard. Since many Jews believe that they will be resurrected when Messiah will come through the East Gate, they are willing to pay big money to be buried as close to the gate as possible. So they could be the first to enter the new kingdom.
If only they knew that the Messiah they are waiting for had already told them that "the last will be first, and the first will be last."
As we descended lower into the Valley of the Shadow of Death, we find the monument which Absalom built for himself. Through generations, the Jews had an interesting custom to bring their children here and have them throw rocks at the monument, as a reminder to what happens when you disobey God.
According to the Bible, Absalom was not buried inside of his own monument. Instead, he was buried in a shame way. Joab threw him into a pit and piled a heap of rocks on top.
Today the monument is sealed, but in the early 20th century, they were able to get inside and find an inscription from the 4th century: “This is the tomb of Zachariah, the martyr, the holy priest, the father of John”. Could this really be the tomb of John the Baptist?
During the rebellion of Absalom, King David, fled Jerusalem through this valley. Then he mentions this valley in Psalm 23:
“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Because this valley is located on the east side of Jerusalem, it is covered in shadow most of the day. The overlooking monument of the wicked king Absalom reminds the fate of those who rebel against God. The burial caves scream “death”, and the adjacent valley of Hinnom points to the eternal lake of fire. It makes sense for David to write these words as he fled from Absalom, but it even makes more sense to apply it to Jesus.
This valley is located right between Gethsemane and Jerusalem. So when Jesus was captured in Gethsemane, he had to actually walk through this valley, and into Jerusalem.
Right next to Absalom's monument is what believe to the Tomb of prophet Zachariah. However, the archeologist could not yet find the actual tomb as they have evidence to believe that this is a monolith. Completely carved out of the solid rock and does not contain a burial chamber.
Stop saying stuff that you assuming from your thoughts...David lived in Bethlehem, bare in mind that King David was singing the first psalm during his teenage life when he was a shepherd in Bethlehem....the valley of death described in the first psalm was referring to David's experience of how dangerous a shepherd's job is....so please stop making up staff using imagination..
Buraya gelen Türk olursa bu resimde gördüğünüz mabed buyuk bir olasilikla Kuranda Meryem Sureh sinde geçen olayin vukuu bulduğu yer..Amcasi Zekeriyya Meryemi Ziyarete gittiinde mevsimde olmayan yiyecekler görür..diger bir olay Cebrail As Hz.Meryeme gözüktüğü yer..Dogrusunu Allah bilir..
Thank you so much for making these videos available and for the teachings on several of
them. The fact of being able to see the place really help to get a clearer
picture of what scripture says, and the scriptures you reference help a lot too.
The little every day snaps (like the wedding in the Sepphoris video or going to
the mall/station in the olive press one) also bring into perspective what life looks
like in modern times over there. While we still don’t meet in the air, I hope our
Lord bless your trip in this life.
Thank you so much, Erich. Your comment is very encouraging to us. Thank you for taking the time to write it! If you do make it to ISrael before we meet our Lord Jesus, please email us at [email protected] and perhaps we could meet here, show you around Nazareth, and fellowship in our local Church!
love your video s more.....
this is showing cave people type dwelling , not intellectual, not like baalbek.
noting / in tho s days the rich payed to get closer to god... i wonder what there gods input is on this....
Haha thanks, Brad. It's actually a lot of hard work. The final video product looks like a lot of fun. But let me tell ya, I have considered to stop making these videos 60 times already. It takes 60+ hours to make one video, and when you've got a day job, things can get quite stressful and sleep deprived. -Sergio
All you have to do is read the Bible. I would suggest you to do it daily and pray and ask the Lord to help you understand what it all means. Ask him to reveal himself to you as you study and I pray that you will ask him into your heart and serve him. Also as you do except Christ into your life ask and pray for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit!! May the Lord bless you and your family on this journey. It's awesome and the only way to God.
These are going to be so shocked when God tells them. " Get away from me , I never knew you " Jesus is already the king of God's kingdom ready to destroy the wicked and save people of all nations who God draws to Him. The Jewish religious leaders called for Jesus death. What makes them think they have Gods approval.
They certainly do not have God's approval. But think about this: A father had two sons. One son disobeyed father's rules, curse the father, and lived an immoral life which the father hated. The other son, being more moral and obedient, one day decides that it is okay to teach his brother a lesson of obedience and takes the matter into his own hands. What would the father do? well, in my family, my father would punish me if I tried to 'punish' my older brother. He would tell me "even though your brother disobeyed, it is my job and authority to punish him, not yours. You do what I command you and keep being a good son". It's kinda similar to the situation with the Jewish people. Hope that makes sense!
You know when you die. You get to a stone stadium with seats and stairs in the middle. A big white screen in front of you. And God and everyone watches your life flash before your eyes. And you think, some victims had to carve all the stones for burials. Makes you shake your head in sorrow for the dead, and the people who had to carve out their graves.
My understanding of who Molech is, Is that he is Nimrod also known as Apollyon, Abbadon, Gilgamesh. He is the one spoken of in the book of Revelation as being the one who was and is not and who is to come. Where as Jesus is the one who was and is and is to come.
Molech or Gilgamesh or whatever name he is assigned from whatever culture is naming him is the Beast, he will be resurrected
to rule over the earth before the return of the great king, Jesus of Nazareth.
The occultist that rule the nations and yes they are all occultist and yes they all worship the fallen ones and there are no exceptions, they are waiting for the return of Nimrod. Nimrod was the first tyrant in the earth and he will also be the last, he will reign with the false prophet and the Dragon, the Beast and False Prophet will both be cast alive into the lake of fire.
The Dragon will be captured and sealed up in the abyss for a thousand years until he is let loose after the 1000 years to deceive the nations once more.
After the Dragon leads the final rebellion of mankind he also is cast alive into the lake of fire where the Beast and False Prophet are. And the all will be judged and all of the elements will be burned in a fervent heat, there will be a new heaven and a new earth.
And the Great King exclaims behold I make all things new I am the Alpha and the Omega the first and the last.
Those who come to Him will dink of the water of life freely and they will eat of the tree of life without cost.
It is amazing the things that are about to take place, events that have been prophetically spoken of millenia ago, we could very well be alive when they take place!
They have been worshipping Nimrod in his various names for thousands of years, he has been disguised from those who can't see. But there is an awakening taking place...just as it was written in the book of Daniel that there will be teachers and those who are wise that will lead many unto righteousness and right standing with God and they will shine forth as the lights of the brightness in the firmament.
The best time to visit the sepulchre is at midnight there's no one around except for the orthodox I was given a great tour and we went into the crypt where the knights of the cross would meditate before going about there business each nook has there signatures absolutely incredible
I am a new subscriber and am just in awe at the comprehensive nature of your creative and artistic videos. Besides the obvious challenges, I am awed by the artistic and professional cinematography that draws me into the landscape and the serious nature of Israel's ancient history. I have learned quite a lot of Jewish/Hebrew history. Thank you for the stories, the beauty and the sharing of this awe inspiring and ancient, great land of Israel. Shalom.
At 4:25 and 4:40 min, he is talking about two times the same name, both written as 7-20-200-10-5 (wordvalue 242).
I write it this way because in this way it is the easiest to see. I wrote it from left to right, that's not right. It's like Z-k-r plus Jah; 10-5.
And there are also some Z-k-r plus 10-5-6 in the Bible (wordvalue 248). Plus one time Z-k-r in 1 Kron. 8 : 31.
Sergio & Rhoda in Israel Ah Got’cha. Thanks for your diligent response. You guys are cool. I’m not Jewish either and when I was there there was only one group who I felt had hatred towards me and that was the Ultra Hasidics. Everyonewas so nice, Hasidics were nice, just not the ultra Hasidics.
Is that Mount of Olive? I remember looking across at Mount of Olive from the cemetery where Oscar Schindler is buried. We put rocks on his tomb too. I went on a tour through these places but my interest in 2012 wasn’t what it is today but looking back at it I feel grateful to have experienced it, just as my stepmom said I would when my wife and I met them out there with our 14 month old daughter. I thought I was going to Israel to get killed in a terrify attack, I remember how angry I was at my stepmom for ever suggesting we go to what I thought was such hostile grounds but I was wrong, I was so wrong.
I took a notes everything from this video. It is amazing. Know i understand why David wrote that. I had a great time watching your videos. Question to sergio. Why is it your name is like an arab name? 😁
Hi, We will visit Israel in three weeks time. We have already been there last year, we visited the Absalom tomb but we were afraid to go further, I understood that the area is not safe. What is the situation now? Thank you.
Jesus wants to know why are you spending so much money on the DEAD and NOT on The Living?
We you look at the past for the future.. I AM is standing beside you it's the person right next to you . that's where I am IS ,you don't have to go anywhere else. Remember he threw out the money changers. spend your money and TIME on CARING FOR THE LIVING -let the dead bury the dead.
Ah CORRECTION There is NO WORD in HEBREW FOR HELL !! HASHEM is just getting ready to TAKE OUT THE TRASH ...AND BURN IT... Just Like the Miss Translation of the word for sin -- JUST MEANS YOU MISSED THE MARK..A righteous man falls down seven but gets up 8. so in other words if you were hunting and you shot once and Miss you'd starve to death.
I have been to Kidron valley in fact you MUST go through Kidron valley if you want to go to the Mount of Olives from the old city. most people that visit Jerusalem go throughout the Kidron valley because its very very difficult to go to the Mount of Olives without going through it
+Mike Appleget The prophets of the bible constantly preached and prophesied against the shrines and 'high places' as places of demon worship and spiritual unfaithfulness to the high Father God. It was these things that brought on the catastrophe of the Assyrian invasion upon Israel.
Manasseh just let the local communities reinstate their local shines and “high places” (which was considered a very bad thing to the ruling elite in Jerusalem) and was smeared and demonized for it. Manasseh ruled over an extremely prosperous and peaceful time in Judah and allowing the “high places” bought him widespread support from the locals outside of Jerusalem.
Many noble prophet stepped their foot in this mighty city. Jews and chiristian ( during that time were true follower of prophet), because they were muslim. Over the time this people lost their identity and become the follower of satan until the muslim ( who submitted to Allah, god of adam, moses, jesus, solomon, david etc) conquest of palestine. But this misguided jew and christian again took this city in 1917 with a bloodbath of muslim. True childrens of isreal must should have muslim, not jew or christian. Because mohammad ( pbuh) is the final prophet and he bear the testimony of all previous prophet including jesus, moses, yahya( jhon the baptist), all are the beloved prophet of Allah. So islam is the only acceptable religion to Allah
I have been to Jerusalem but only briefly, I whizzed around as much as I could and soaked it all up. What a wonderful video, excellently filmed and edited, thank you! 😀 With the narrative and scripture too, you help to bring the past alive. i feel like I am back home. God bless and I have subbed 😊
NOT MANY people who have been to Jerusalem, I would wager, have ever been to the Kidron Valley(known to theJewish people as "the Valley Of Death". And I would also wager that EVEN FEWER have been to Absalom's Tomb,(which he had built for himself). Not knowing that he would ie a violent death at a young age, because he rebelled against his Father, King David. "AMAZING to see Absalom's tomb in such detail, AND, that it has survived 2 millenia of wars and such.. Sergio and Rhoda, you guys did such an outstanding job of touring Israel's Holy sites and archeology. Kudos To you Both.
Too bad the jews haven t accepted Jesus as the promised messiah and are still in the old law. They will have to go through the tribulation period after the Gentiles are raptured to meet Christ in the air.
15 You saw no form of any kind the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, 16 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, 17 or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, 18 or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below.
I LOVE these things!! You help to bring the Old Testament into the New by these places you show us, and the history you give us!! Thank you SO MUCH! These places are absolutely amazing! I had no clue that all those things that happened in the Old Testament, happened right there in and around Jerusalem, way before there was a Jerusalem!
Be sure to check Psalms 22 in the Christian Bible ... very eye opening!
John 14:6 KJV, "Jesus saith, I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
1 Peter 2:24 NIV, "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed."
John 3:16 KJV, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
Romans 3:23-24 NIV, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus".
John 8:12 KJV, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life".
Jesus is the only WAY to God, the TRUTH of salvation, and the Breath/Bread of LIFE.
ACCEPT Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Sins separate us from God because He's Holy. All sins will be forgiven and erased through faith in Christ Jesus. God ♥ you, is alive, merciful, faithful, truthful, and is waiting with His arms wide open FOR YOU! For Jesus did not come to establish a religion, but to become a mediator between God and men.
Through the Grace of God, Jesus was given to us by paying the price at the Cross at Calvary. Repent and confess from your sins to Jesus and ask Him to forgive you. A sinner cannot save a sinner, only a sinless person can. That sinless Being is Jesus Christ Himself.
Through the faith in Christ Jesus, the sick was healed; everywhere He went, He healed the blind, the mute, the deaf, the demon-possessed, raised the dead, as well as performed many miracles; He also walked on water, turned water into wine, calmed the storm with His command, and was raised up from the dead. Miracles are still being seen today! Jesus is our helper, our healer, our refuge/protection, and our strength for when time gets tough.
God is standing and knocking at the door waiting for your answer right now because THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS COMING.
There is only one way out of this world alive, and His name is Jesus. If you are reading Lynn's words and these, and you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, repent and choose Life. Choose Jesus. NOW. Time is running out. That's why these videos are available to us in such depth, such beauty and such realism. Open your mouth and ask Him to forgive you and save you, believing He is the perfect, crucified, resurrected Son of God, and you shall be saved.
For example, an American fashion company might source fabric in China and have the clothes manufactured in Vietnam, finished in Italy, and shipped to a warehouse in the United States for distribution to retail outlets internationally. The fashion industry has long been one of the largest employers in the United States, and it remains so in the 21st century. However, employment declined considerably as production increasingly moved overseas, especially to China. Because data on the fashion industry typically are reported for national economies and expressed in terms of the industry’s many separate sectors, aggregate figures for world production of textiles and clothing are difficult to obtain . However, by any measure, the industry accounts for a significant share of world economic output.
The fashion industry consists of four levels: the production of raw materials, principally fibres and textiles but also leather and fur; the production of fashion goods by designers, manufacturers, contractors, and others; retail sales; and various forms of advertising and promotion. These levels consist of many separate but interdependent sectors, all of which are devoted to the goal of satisfying consumer demand for apparel under conditions that enable participants in the industry to operate at a profit.
